Nevada’s gaming revenues were almost 15% up in August 2017 compared to August 2016, with a total gross take of almost $1 billion vs $861m the previous year. Clark County revenues were very healthy with The Strip increased by 21%, Downtown was up by 13%. The rest of the state was up by smaller amounts with one exception, with North Las Vegas (1.74%), Laughlin (6.94%), Boulder (0.83%) and Mesquite (10.57%) all showing growth. Reno was up by almost 12%, Sparks up by 7.5%, North Tahoe 10% but the rest of Washoe County down by 2%. South Tahoe grew 7%, as did Elko County, and Carson Valley was up almost 9%
“Obviously, everyone knew it was going to be a big sports betting month,” Michael Lawton from the NGC said, referring to the Mayweather McGregor fight that certainly helped push up those numbers.
