Las Vegas’s newest Hotel & Casino, the Asian themed Lucky Dragon is now open for business. A full two weeks ahead of schedule. The Grand Opening Gala night remains on Dec 3rd, but for players wanting to immerse themselves in Asian gaming, they can now do so, whilst marvelling at a 1 and quarter ton glass dragon sculpture!
Lucky Dragon is the first truly Asian themed and targeted casino in the city, and opens a full 3 years ahead of the scheduled launch date of Resorts World Las Vegas, Genting’s Asian Mega Casino Hotel on the former Echelon place site, where the once great Stardust once stood.
Located at north side of Sahara Ave, about half a mile to the west of the Strip the casino features 200 hotel rooms, and true to its theme, all signage is in Chinese and English. The property expects to attract most of it’s players from California, however thrice weekly direct flights from Beijing to Las Vegas will start on 2nd December 2016, which is sure to bring plenty of new customers.
“Lucky Dragon in and of itself is something completely unique, not only in Las Vegas but in the world,” Chief Operating Officer Dave Jacoby said, “This one-of-a-kind centerpiece of the resort will welcome guests from around the world to our gaming floor and provide good fortune and warm hospitality to all of Lucky Dragon’s guests,” he added. Lucky Dragon officials are expecting most of their business to come from local Asian players and domestic Chinese customers from the West Coast.
The property’s five restaurants, will be a “night market,” inspired by street food outlets in China.
The hotel has 9 floors, but officially no 4th Floor, as it is considered unlucky in China, and perhaps as you’d expect, 8’s are wild throughout the casino! Sound like fun! We’ll certainly be giving Lucky Dragon a visit when we are next in Vegas.
