Jupiter Casino in Brisbane has hit the headlines after barring entry to a tattoo artist on the grounds that she had visible tattoos on her neck. Having arrived at the casino to celebrate her sisters birthday, Bianka Roggensack, who uses the artist name Bee Bumble, was told that under new dress code rules (which apparently weren’t on display anywhere) she would only be permitted to enter Jupiter Casino if she covered up her extensive neck work. So began a foundation application process second to none!
The Courier Mail reports that Ms Roggensack, who was in the news only a few months ago when police raids were carried out on tattoo parlours in connection with biker gangs, claimed that she wasn’t intoxicated, has no record of causing trouble in the casino, and is an upstanding citizen. She was simply barred for having visible tattoos.
Since the story was first reported the casino is believed to have confirmed that the new dress code policy will be enforced for all visitors, as they aim to smarten up the casino as it starts an almost $400m revamp, which will include a new hotel and new restaurants. Echo Entertainment, which owns Jupiter Casino in Brisbane also owns Star Casino Sydney, which has seen a 40 percent growth in revenues off the back of its recent $840m refurbishment last year. It is unclear whether Star Casino has enforced the same dress policy as their sister casino in Brisbane.
