One of the great features of Las Vegas hotels is the choice on offer, and weâre not going to pretend that Caesars Palace is in the same league as Aria for facilities, features and modern style. But if youâre looking for a relatively low budget stay in the heart of the strip then you need to check out Caesars, or is it Caesar’s? A subject of debate for over 40 years, the correct answer is Caesars, as the hotel and casino treats every guest like a Caesar, insofar as they look after them, so the place is full of Caesars, rather than being owned by a Caesar. So now you know.
Opened in 1966, Caesars Palace is understandably one of the more old fashioned strip hotels. The hotel has modernised several times over the years, but itâs not always easy to keep up against the likes of Aria and The Bellagio. But not everyone in Vegas goes there for opulent surroundings and this hotel remains famous for the main attraction of Las Vegas â gambling.
A 130,000 square feet casino and the biggest poker room in Las Vegas says it all. The home of the âWheel of Fortuneâ and also offering a 250 seat race/sports book, this Casino is full of traditional Vegas gamblers, here to make money and beat the house. Thatâs why the makers of âThe Hangoverâ movie chose Caesars Palace to film many of their famous scenes. And yes, you can get married here, in the hotelâs chapel.
And when youâre not gambling you can shop in the 120 plus designer outlets and eat at numerous very affordable and good quality restaurants. Or enjoy live entertainment at the Colosseum where Celine Dion, Elton John and Rod Stewart are (very) regular performers. The current headline act is none other than Mariah Carey! You can also take in one of a number of great shows, including the superb Absinthe. Alternatively you can dine in some of Vegas’s best restaurants, including Nobu and Gordon Ramsey’s latest outpost. In recent years Caesars has lead the evolution of Las Vegas from gambling town to party town and has some of the best bars and nightclubs in the city.
This resort has nearly 2,500 rooms situated over five different towers and is built in an ideal Strip location along the popular monorail route. Plus seven swimming pools and Spa Roman Baths. And the best bit for us â play swim up Blackjack at the Fortuna Pool! Thatâs real Vegas.
In short: affordable, iconic, and a gambling mecca. Check out the promo deals on their website, especially the 25% room discount and free buffets.
